Grigory Pekarsky leads Vesta Preferred, among Chicago's top five residential teams by sales volume (The Real Deal, 2025) and a 2025 Chicago Association of REALTORS Platinum Top Producer in Units and Volume.

History

Vesta Preferred Realty was founded in Chicago in 2009 by Grigory Pekarsky and Brad Robbins, two Detroit transplants who met at a boutique brokerage focused on downtown rentals and, after a year, started their own firm out of a 460-square-foot office on Diversey. It was the bottom of the housing crash. While the boutique brokerages were closing, Vesta built its business on residential rentals, starting with 40 leases the first year and growing to 614 the second, with a model that treated every rental client as a future buyer. By 2012 those clients were coming back to buy; that year co-founder Grigory Pekarsky was named to REALTOR® Magazine's 30 Under 30, the first honoree in the award's history recognized for work in rentals. By 2013 their business had passed $14 million in sales, driven largely by former renters buying their first place. "Broker for Life" was the founding idea, not a tagline added later.

The firm crossed $50 million in annual sales in 2017 and merged with Newman Realty in 2018 to form the RNP Real Estate Group under the Vesta umbrella. Vesta moved to a larger office in Bucktown in 2020, launched The Vesta Team in 2022, and moved to its current office at 1333 N Kingsbury Street in 2026. VestaCares, the firm's community initiative focused on Chicago youth, has run since 2014, including sponsorship of the Real Estate Rumble and team volunteering. Vesta has appeared on the Inc. 5000 list of America's fastest-growing private companies four times: 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2025.
